Excessive Rainfall and Severe Thunderstorms Threaten the Southern U.S. Again Friday

Heavy to excessive rainfall is forecast for eastern Louisiana into central Alabama which could bring flash, urban, and riverine flooding Friday. Overall, today (Friday) will be an improvement over Thursday with some sun and low rain chances. The best chance for showers and storms will be near the Red River during the day. Severe storms are not expected. Highs will range from the upper 70s to the mid 80s. Tonight will be partly cloudy and mild with lows in the 60s. Some patchy fog will be possible both this morning and overnight into Saturday morning.
Warm and humid conditions are expected this weekend into next week. After some rain-free days, storm chances will return during the middle of the upcoming week.
